SEBI begins examining Sahara Q Shop schemes

Mumbai: Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has started examining the schemes of Sahara Q shop schemes under the SEBI Act. This fact was brought in the counter-affidavit filed by SEBI in the Writ petition of IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and his wife Nutan before the Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench.

Subrata Roy not liable for refunding Rs 24,000 crore: Sahara to Supreme Court

NEW DELHI: Sahara group has argued in the Supreme Court that contempt proceedings should not be initiated against its promoter Subrata Roy and directors for its failure to pay back about Rs 24,000 crore to investors through market regulator Sebi.

Sebi cracks whip on Alchemist Infra; orders refund to investors

In a fresh crackdown against ‘collective investment schemes’, Sebi has asked Alchemist Infra Realty Ltd to wind up all such activities and refund the money collected from public investors, which could be more than Rs 1,000 crore, within three months.      
Besides, the company and its five directors have also been barred from the securities market till the time all its schemes are wound up and the money is refunded to investors.

SEBI gets flooded with Sahara refund claims

In the high-profile Sahara case involving refund of over Rs 24,000 crore to investors, market regulator SEBI has got a new problem at hand — that is handling the huge volumes of refund claims with majority of them being without necessary documents and details.Ever since the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) began a process last month for refund of money to the genuine Sahara investors, the regulator is being flooded with the applications for such repayments.
