RBI to circulate plastic notes

New Delhi : Reserve Bank of India (RBI) now will try to circulate plastic notes in the country. After getting green signal from the centre, Banks will issue 10 rupees note in plastic. Governor of Reserve Bank, Duvvuri Subbarao, “We are waiting for government’s nod to issue plastic currency in the nation.”“After getting the permission we will get the 10 Rs. Notes published in some foreign press and then import them. If the practice becomes successful, we will start publishing plastic notes in country itself.” adds he. Taking on the problem of fake currency, Subbarao deems, “The problem of fake currency is comparatively more in neighboring provinces.”
